Genera Energy Chosen as Biofuels Digest’s ‘Hot 40’ for 2015-16

For the second year in a row, the biomass feedstock industry leader has made the prestigious list of hottest small companies in advanced bioeconomy

VONORE, TENN. Nov.23, 2014 – Genera Energy Inc., a recognized leader in biomass feedstock innovation and supply chain advancements, has once again been named one of the Hot 40 small companies in the advanced bioeconomy by Biofuels Digest.

The annual Biofuels Digest Hot 40 rankings are determined by weighted votes, with 50 percent based on votes received from the invited industry panel of selectors, and 50 percent based on votes received over a three week span from the Digest’s more than 1.8 million registered subscribers. The Digest’s “Hot” lists are widely recognized as identifying the companies that represent an ideal blend of visibility and credibility in the industry, rather than a popularity contest.

“We are honored to once again be recognized alongside other leaders in the advanced bioeconomy,” said Kelly Tiller, President and CEO of Genera Energy. “We are passionate about finding innovative ways to create a more sustainable future through biomass feedstocks—achieving conservation, environmental, and economic improvements that benefit our local farmers and landowners, rural communities, and our customers.”

This is the second time in a row that Genera has been recognized on one of Biofuels Digest’s Hot Lists. This recognition signifies the company’s excellence in biomass supply and supply chain management services and its growing impact on the bioenergy and bioproducts industries.

Most of the companies honored in the Hot 40 ranking are bringing to market novel processes and technologies for producing renewable chemicals, fuels, materials, and products from biomass. Genera is the only company recognized in the ranking focused on innovation and improvements in the biomass feedstock supply chain on which the rest of the industry relies.

“We see tremendous opportunities ahead for sustainably produced energy crops and biomass feedstocks to revitalize America’s farms and rural communities,” said Sam Jackson, vice president of business development. “We are pleased that Genera’s recognition by the broader biobased industry signals the critical role a well-designed, efficient and low-risk feedstock supply chain plays in realizing the diverse and vast benefits of a transition to a bio-based economy.”
