Genera Energy Inc. is committed to the health and safety of our employees, sub-contractors, clients, industry partners and our community.  Safety is a core value of our organization and protection from injury is a key continuing objective. Everyone in our organization is responsible and accountable for ensuring safe work practices and care of our environment. Our philosophy is that the well-being of our company is dependent on the health and safety of our workforce. No task is to be regarded so urgent that time cannot be taken to do it in a safe manner. The welfare of the individual is our greatest concern.

Our commitment to safety is exemplified by strong policies throughout the supply chain. An example of our safety policies can be seen with our fall protection and safety policies surrounding the application of tarps on bale stacks. Policies are in place for stack access (man-baskets and secured ladders); personnel personal protective gear (PPE) such as harnesses, gloves, and hardhats; wind speed limitations; and secure controlled access zones around stacks during tarping. These detailed policies allow for efficient tarp application while protecting our most valuable resource, our employees.

We maintain a safety and health program conforming to the best practices of our industry—on the farm, in the field and at our plant. To be successful, such a program must embody the proper attitudes toward injury and illness prevention on the part of supervisors and employees. It also requires cooperation in all safety, health and environmental matters, not only between supervisors and employees, but also between employees and their co-workers. Only through such a cooperative effort can an effective safety and health program be established and preserved.
