Genera Energy Featured on Public Television’s “This American Land”
Public television conservation newsmagazine series highlights Genera’s contributions to sustainable land use

VONORE, TN Oct. 21, 2013 – Genera Energy, Inc., a leading-edge biomass supply chain enterprise will be featured on the third season of the public television series “This American Land.” Genera provides and develops resource-sensitive, sustainable feedstock systems for bioenergy and bioproducts makers. It was recently named winner of the 2013 Sustainable Biofuels Award for Sustainable Feedstock Innovation.

“This American Land” program follows the efforts of individuals and companies on the front lines of conservation efforts and is produced by Environment News Trust (ENT), a nonprofit news venture producing environmental news stories for broadcast and Internet distribution.

Award-winning reporter, producer and ENT founder Gary Strieker said,  “ENT and ‘This American Land’ aim to raise more public awareness and informed debate about issues affecting American landscapes, waters, and wildlife.”

Genera Energy, headquartered in Vonore, Tenn., works with established oil and chemical industry leaders developing next generation biofuel and bioproducts as well as with individual project and/or technology developers. Profiling Genera Energy is a natural fit for “This American Land,” due to its scalable feedstock supply systems that utilize renewable crops while utilizing environmentally-friendly land use practices.

“We were pleased to have Genera profiled in ‘This America Land’ series,” said Kelly Tiller, Ph.D., president and CEO of Genera Energy. “Being featured on public television will certainly help raise awareness of the accomplishments Genera has made in developing an improved feedstock supply chain, creating environmentally and economically sustainable production systems for biomass feedstocks that are used by biofuel and biorefinery industries to create renewable energy products.”

The episode profiling Genera Energy, “Backyard Wilderness, Switchgrass Biofuel, Restoring Native Plants,” will be available to public television stations in late October.

“I think our viewers will be astonished at the incredible work being done in developing America’s next generation biofuels,” said Bruce Burkhardt, producer and host.
